Cosmoprof North America 2008

We just got back from Cosmoprof North America, a three day international tradeshow held annually in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. We met people from all over the world, took a lot of Tassi orders and made some new friends.

One year ago, we went to Cosmoprof as our very first trade show. It was a last minute decision to go and a mad scramble to put together photos, displays and our video. We really didn’t know what we were doing. But a lot of good things came from that first trade show. We got some good advice and met people who have become a big part of helping us launch the Tassi.

We have come a long way in a year. This time, we actually knew what we were talking about (most of the time). I think I put the Tassi on and took it off over 1,000 times in three days showing people how it works. It is so fun to talk to women who have never seen the Tassi and to watch their eyes light up when I demonstrate it.

Some women who first received a Tassi at last year’s trade show came by our booth and told us they use the Tassi everyday and wouldn’t be without it. A salon/spa owner from Anaheim, California, told us she started selling the Tassi after last year’s trade show and she sells out a Tassi display (12 Tassies) each week and can hardly keep up with the demand.

Another salon owner from Canada, who met us in March at America’s Beauty Show in Chicago, told us she has over 30 people on a waiting list who want the Tassi. She knew she would be seeing us at this show. So she stopped by our booth and made a large order.

We visited with a couple of women from Canyon Ranch, a famous spa/resort in Tucson, Arizona, who had not heard of the Tassi. After we showed it to them, they told us the Tassi was the best thing they had seen at the whole show. Now that really made me feel good.

My husband and four of my five children worked with me at the show. One of my daughters lives back East and has a one year old son, so she couldn’t come. We missed you Katie! That’s us in the picture. (Left to right: Chase, Paul, me, Hanna, Sarah, Danny)

It wasn’t all work. One evening, we went to the Bellagio, and I saw the fountain show for the first time. There is an 8-acre lake in front of the hotel. Fountains rise up out of the lake and shoot water high into the air with music and lights. The show was running every 10 minutes, and we stayed for three of them. The best show was the last with Frank Sinatra singing “Luck Be a Lady Tonight” from Guy and Dolls. I could have stayed and watched all night.

That fountain is my favorite thing about Vegas. My sisters and I have our reunions there and we stayed @ the Bellagio just to get a room with a view of the lake to watch it as much as possible! I gave my sisters all a tassi at the last reunion and they all love them. I’m so glad your convention went well. It’s great you could all be there together! (except Katie):(
